Samaai wins in Rabat

​Long jumper Ruswahl Samaai led the charge on Sunday, winning his specialist discipline to carry the South African contingent at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco.
Samaai produced a best leap of 8.35m to secure first place.
Four of the other five SA athletes taking part all finished fifth in their respective disciplines, including former Olympic silver medallist Khotso Mokoena who landed at 7.94m in the long jump event.
Making their Diamond League debuts, Thando Roto clocked 10.26 in the men’s 100m sprint and teenager Clarence Munyai delivered a solid performance by clocking 20.31 in the 200m dash, while Wenda Nel covered the women’s 400m hurdles contest in 55.31.
Dropping down in distance, Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya settled for seventh place in the women’s 400m race in 51.53.
