Sprinter Emile Erasmus continued to build on his consistent performances in the European indoor campaign, again equalling his 60m personal best in Linz on Friday night.
The 24-year-old athlete, who formed part of the SA 4x100m relay team who won gold at last year’s African Championships, had opened his season in style last month when he chopped 0.09 off his career record, clocking 6.69 seconds in Stockholm.
He went on to set the same time in Vienna last week, and again covered the short dash in 6.69 at the Gugl Indoor meeting on Friday.
He took second place in Linz, crossing the line 0.05 behind Asian Indoor Championships bronze medallist Eric Cray of the Philippines.
Erasmus, a former professional rugby prospect now focussing on athletics, was set to compete again in Vienna on Saturday evening.
