The Southern Region Junior Championships has been postponed by two weeks, officials confirmed this week.
In an updated calendar issued to members on Friday, Athletics SA revealed the Confederation of African Athletics Southern Region organisation had postponed the age group track and field event to June 17-18, though it would still be held in Zambia.
The national federation announced a 33-member team recently for the regional showpiece, which will act as final trials for teenage athletes hoping to be selected for the SA team to the World Under-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz in July.
The CAA Southern Region calendar has been hit by numerous cancellations and postponements in recent years.
The regional body called off the Southern Region Cross Country Championships in Swaziland in March, as well as the Southern Region Youth Championships in Lesotho last month.
Meanwhile, in another change to the domestic calendar, the AUSC Region 5 U-20 Games, a multi-sport event to be held in Luanda, Angola between December 9-19, was added to the latest ASA fixtures.
