Sprinters Henricho Bruintjies and Carina Horn improved their 60m career records at the Istaf Indoor meeting in Berlin on Saturday night.
After clocking 6.64 to finish third in his heat, Bruintjies clipped 0.02 off his personal best to take second place in the final in 6.62.
The race was reduced to four men, with German Julian Reus and James Dasaolu of Great Britain disqualified for false starts, and former 100m world champion Kim Collins of Saint Kitts and Nevis went on to win in 6.53.
Horn was fourth in her heat in 7.23, progressing as the sixth fastest qualifier to the final, where she charged to fifth place in 7.19.
She chopped 0.01 off her career record, moving within 0.04 of the 17-year-old SA record held by Wendy Seegers.
World 200m champion Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands won the race in 7.00.
