A final 10-member team has been named by Athletics South Africa for the World Half-Marathon Championships in Cardiff next month.
The federation had announced a 13-member provisional squad last month, with the final trials held at last week’s SA 10km Championships in Sasolburg.
The men’s team would be led by the nation’s top distance runner Stephen Mokoka, who has twice finished eighth at the biennial 21km spectacle, ASA confirmed in a statement on Thursday.
Diana-Lebo Phalula, the SA 10km and 21km champion, would spearhead the women’s team.
Xolisa Tyali and Liziwe Mabona were included as non-travelling reserves to back up the squad.
