A number of South Africa’s top athletes will turn out for the Boxer Athletic Club this season, with the professional outfit announcing a powerful elite 2016/17 squad.
The men’s team would be spearheaded by the likes of versatile distance runner Elroy Gelant, marathon prospect Gladwin Mzazi, two-time SA half-marathon champion Lucky Mohale and 42km specialist Desmond Mokgobu.
The women’s squad would be led by in-form Phalula sisters Lebo and Lebogang, along with local marathon stars Tanith Maxwell and Cornelia Joubert.
“These are some of South Africa’s top performing athletes and we are looking forward to an awesome year,” club manager Rhyn Swanepoel posted on the Boxer facebook page after the announcement was made.
