Zarck Visser roared back into form on Saturday, launching a massive career record at the Bad Langensalza long jump meeting in Germany.
The Commonwealth Games silver medallist, whose early 2015 campaign was disrupted by hip surgery, bounced back in fine style to produce a leap of 8.41m.
He finished 27cm clear of German athlete Alyn Camara, who finished second, missing training partner Khotso Mokoena’s national record by just nine centimetres.
