South African athletics is experiencing one of its best ever seasons, in the build-up to the World Championships in Beijing next month.
A total of eight athletes have set 14 outdoor national senior records in 12 events (including seven Olympic disciplines) in the last four months.
Race walker Lebogang Shange and sprinter Wayde van Niekerk have led the charge, breaking three SA marks, while distance runner Stephen Mokoka and speedster Anaso Jobodwana have set two each.

List of SA record breakers thus far in 2015:


Lebogang Shange – 3 000m walk, 11:20.39, Pretoria (March 7); 20km walk, 1:21:50, Lugano (March 15); 20 000m walk, 1:23:20, Bedford (June 21)
