Updated: May 18, 2015

A 63-member provisional SA squad has been announced for the World Championships in Beijing in August.
“Any athlete not in the squad has the right to appeal in writing for
reconsideration of the decision of the selectors,” Athletics SA told its members on Monday.
All appeals, including relevant information, needed to be submitted by noon next Monday.
“This is not the final team, and athletes will still have a chance to qualify,” said ASA president Aleck Skhosana.
Athletes in the squad could also be omitted from the final team if they did not achieve the required qualifying criteria.
The qualifying deadline set by the IAAF is on August 10.
